The Volksoper is Vienna's main stage for operetta, opera, musicals and ballet, offering sophisticated musical entertainment. General director Robert Meyer attaches great importance to the operetta in his programme in order to make it more widely appreciated. The „Volksoper Special“ offers soirées, cabarets and parodies. Additionally the Volksoper has a special programme for children: Workshops and subscription series’ for children as well as school projects and guided tours. In this way, the world of musical theatre becomes more accessible for children.
The start of the subscription sale and the open sale for May at the Volksoper Wien has been postponed until further notice.
The season press conference of the Volksoper Wien was planned for April 24th, but will not take place due to the current situation.
